Featured Speaker

Our Featured Speaker will be Claudia Rossett, Journalist-in-Residence for the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. Ms. Rosett will speak about the Oil for Food scandal.

2006 Candidates Series
Although the 2005 political season is in full swing, and I want to thank all those who are running , working on, or volunteering for this year's campaigns, it is not too early to start thinking about 2006.
This month, we are kicking off our 2006 Candidates Series. Every month we will bring you one candidate running for statewide office in 2006. The first speaker in this series is the Honorable John Spencer, former mayor of Yonkers and a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

Please note that the meeting will be on Tuesday, October 11th, as Yom Kippur falls on the second Thursday of the month.

Time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Place: Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmens Club
283 Lexington Ave (bet 36th & 37th St), 2nd Floor
Admission: Members - FREE, Non Members - $5, F/T Students - $2.

Mayor John Spencer really impressed me with what he had to say and hope he continues his campaign by stressing the importance off having a real Republican running for US Senate. There were many points he made regarding his tenure as Mayor of Yonkers and I feel he should update his website with his success as mayor.
