The next New York Young Republican Club, Inc meeting will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007.

Hon. Herman Badillo is the author of the new book, "One Nation, One Standard", which addresses the current state of our public educational system.

Linda Chavez, author of Out of the Barrio says, "Herman Badillo is a true leader who doesn't flinch from expressing difficult truths. His own amazing story provides inspiration and the moral authority that allows him to advocate hard choices for American Hispanics."

Hon. Herman Badillo has served the State of New York as a Congressional Leader and also the City of New York as President of the Bronx. In 2001, Mr. Badillo, ran for Mayor of New York challenging Michael Bloomberg from the right. The New York Young Republican Club was a chief supporter of Mr. Badillo's campaign, going against the New York City Republican establishment.

Nicole Gelinas is a Searle Freedom Trust Fellow with the Manhattan Institute who writes on urban economics and finance, municipal and corporate finance, business issues, and crime. Ms. Gelinas will talk about recovery in New Orleans 18 months after Hurricane Katrina. She last spoke at our club on August 11, 2005.
