Showcasing the tolerant left

I was running through some of the comments that are sent to the New York Young Republican Club and I came across some very curious, and hilarious remarks from individuals who had mistaken our website for the website for the New York University College Republicans. So, without further ado, the comments:

Where should the next Republican convention be held? Any gay bar will work - posted by xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well, xxxxxxxxxx, here's your GOP convention.

Why do you (ignorant Americans) need to do such a play out of hatred for different people - I wish you were born poor, on the other side, and without possibilities. You just have money: any trace of intelligence. Sorry for you: you must invent silly things to give sense to your existence. - posted by ana

I'm not exactly following Miss Ana. Perhaps she thought she was sending a comment to a Paris Hilton or Britney Spears fan site. Or maybe Kofi Anan's old UN page.

- and now, my favorite -

Watch your backs, nazi f**ks... Contrary to your ignorant and slanted pre conception, a good part of the "illegal aliens" you are making fun of can read english very well.

Just don't be surprised when they start a new game "Let's whack all the fragile, closeted gay, spineless republican club members"

This is a message from Jose, a Mexican friend of mine that is moving to NY next week. He's been trying to get deported but this would be a fun way to get a free ticket home.

death to you alllllllll - posted by Alien

I really don't think much needs to be said about this one.

The "immigration game" that NYU organized received a lot of press and the New York Young Republican Club (this one at least) really didn't give the event much thought. We were too busy co-sponsoring an immigration debate up at Pace University, which has been rescheduled for April. Our friends up at Pace U. are working with the Democrats at the college, so I'm sure the event will be too boring for sensationalists. I look forward to attending it though and letting visitors to our site hear how the debate goes.

With planning the immigration debate at Pace, it was brought to my attention about a planned protest at NYU. See below. The Manhattan Institute wrote an excellent article about liberal "tolerance."

Email sent to a listserv at NYU:

"Hello. Chris Simcox, a founder and leader of the Minutemen, a group of racist vigilantes that targets illegal immigrants, has been invited to speak at an event on our university campus. I strongly believe that the university should not be hosting speakers who aim to incite racially-motivated violence. Therefore, I am writing to invite and encourage you to participate in a student-organized protest on the night of the event. Details below. Email me with any questions. I hope to see you there.
