The race on Manhattan's Upper East Side is heating up and the New York Young Republican Club can help.

Greg Camp has twelve days to take the 65 AD from the Democrats and he needs volunteers to help win the Special Election on June 5th.

From now until Monday, June 1, you can help out with campaign mailings, phone banking and more. Please call Marcus Cederqvist, Executive Director of the Manhattan GOP, at (212) 517-8444. Campaign Headquarters is out of the Metropolitan Republican Club - 122 E. 83 St (off Lex Ave). If the number is busy, you can also call (212) 288-8606.

Because of the short time period, campaign specifics may change, so you'll need to call and make arrangements on what time is best for you. Say you're with the New York Young Republican Club and you would like to help with the Camp Campaign.

An opportunity to put forth a highly qualified candidate in a winnable district doesn't come by that often in Manhattan. I cannot stress enough how good our chances are for this Special Election. Our organization has a long history of electing Republicans in New York City and this is an opportunity to continue that tradition.

This weekend, especially, our club will have a strong presence at the Met Club volunteering for the latest Camp direct mailing. Starting Friday 6 PM to 10 PM and all through Memorial Day weekend and until Tuesday evening, members of the New York Young Republican Club will be volunteering for Camp's campaign.

More Congratulations in order for Robert Hornak!

Last week, former YR Chairman Robert Hornak was officially named Deputy Director of the New York City office of the Assembly Minority Leader (James Tedisco).  He will be working closely with J.C. Polanco to represent Leader Tedisco and the regional caucus in the 5 boroughs and Westchester.  A daunting task since NYC has only one (1) member in the Assembly Minority.

This position, coupled with his recent appointment as volunteer Chair of the Queens GOP's Candidate Recruitment and Development Committee, is a recognition of Robert's many, many years of hard work in organizing Republicans throughout New York. That work hasn't always won him friends (as will likely be evidenced by whining comments to this post), but there seems to finally be an acknowledgment from our leaders that there should be a dedication to embracing the grassroots of our party.

There isn't a person better equipped to traverse the 50+ ADs in our fair city empowering those to want to do the hard work needed to make the Republican Party matter in NYC again.  This will also be a great opportunity for Robert to work to promote the many issues he's championed in his long career.

Congratulations, Robert Hornak!

As you may already know, PBS has just been airing its series on America, its values, and its politics, entitled: "America at a Crossroad." What you may not know is part of the series, "America at a Crossroad" was CENSORED by PBS and was not broadcast in their series. The movie, Islam vs. Islamists, was produced Martyn Burke, Alex Alexiev and Frank Gaffney and it documents the real crossroads between moderate Muslims and the struggle within their own
community and conflict with the fundamentalists to be heard.

Our friends at CapitalHQ, have quickly organized a private screening of this film.

Please RSVP.
