Honorees Include

Herbert I. London (www.herblondon.org) has devoted much of his life to improving the state of New York City and the state of the State. He is a recipient of honorary degrees from the University of Aix-Marseille, 1983 and Grove City College, 1993. He has received a Presidential Citation from N.Y.U., is a recipient of the National Pro-Am Achievement Award, was the 1996 recipient of the Martin Luther King Award from the Congress of Racial Equality for Citizenship Achievement, was the 1997 recipient of the Jacques Maritain Society Award, was the first recipient of the Peter Shaw Award for his exemplary writing on higher education and American intellectual culture, was awarded the Templeton Honor Roll Award in 1997 as one of the nation's exemplary professors. In 2000, he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, in 2001 the American Jewish Congress Award, and in 2002 the Liberty and Media Award.

Tom Dooley, a life long Astoria/LIC resident is a retired firefighter who worked ground zero as a volunteer on 911 and in the ensuing month. Tom Dooley is a Gulf War/Desert Storm Veteran. Was a long time FDNY bagpiper has a network of friends on and off the job. Tom Dooley's wife Zoraida Dooley served on School Board 30 and she and Tom fought for important education reforms including launching a lawsuit requiring that parents be alerted as a matter of law when pedophilic DOE employees work at our children's schools as opposed to be placed in the "rubber room." (A kind of Meagn's law for our schools). Tom and Zoraida have three accomplished children who all attend or attended NYC public schools. Tom has a number of great ideas and programs he would like to introduce to tackle quality of life issues or improve the delivery of services in our neighborhoods in North Western Queens.

Additional Guest Speakers

Keiran Lalor. During six years of Marine Corps service, Kieran Lalor trained on Mount Fuji Japan, led a Fire Team of Marines in NATO training exercise Operation Battle Griffon in Trondheim, Norway and worked with Ukrainian Naval Infantry and Turkish Marines in Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations and amphibious assault tactics during Operation Sea Breeze in Odessa, Ukraine.

Mr. Lalor recently started the organization, Iraqi Veterans for Congress, a pro-republican organization promoting men and women who have served in our armed services for elected office. However, IVC is more than a group of Republican candidates who served in Iraq. It is also a voice for thousands of U.S. military veterans, their families, and hardworking patriotic Americans who are tired of seeing veterans mistreated and their mission slandered.
